The Story Behind the Name
Every August, an Irish town crowns a goat king.
For more than 400 years, the town of Killorglin in County Kerry has thrown Ireland’s oldest fair. A wild mountain goat is brought down from the hills, crowned King Puck by the Queen of Puck in the town square, and reigns over three days and three nights of music, markets and celebration.
Legend says a he-goat once raced into town to warn Killorglin that Cromwell’s army was coming. They’ve crowned his kind ever since.
Puck Fair Public House brings that spirit to Queens: a proper Irish pub with Kerry roots, named for the fair that started it all.
